Measurement of the superficial tension: PHD008161

Principle :
An horizontal ring, few tenth of mm thick, is hanging at the dynamometer end on three different points of its circumference.
The ring is plunged into the liquid and therefore perfectly wet.
Afterwards it is emerged; a meniscus is then formed inside & outside the ring perimeter.
At the moment of breaking, the weight of the lifted liquid, (value to be measured) is equal to the product of the superficial tension by two times the perimeters of the medium circle.

The apparatus includes:
– 1 hanging dual ring ,
– 1 base fitted dynamometer
– 1 hoist plate.
